because I am soaked through to the bone, each droplet

whispering a prayer as it sinks in

I embody their utterances, listen to the woosh of whispers

they talk of promises long forgotten but never broken

intertwined daisy chains, each speaks to the last

promise as memories wilt away

as each petal falls it liquidates, morphing into the wetness

of my cheeks; I watch time slip past

I grasp onto time, captured in laminate film, each tear

rejuvenating life, a still frame becomes an instant replay

and there I am, again and again, a perpetual sieve drenched

in recollection.

C.J. Dorn and Lauren Middleton together. C.J. is wearing an orange patterned shirt and a black cap. Lauren is wearing a striped t-shirt with a denim jacket.

Another joint poem this week, again with one of my closest friends. Lauren was the first guest writer to be featured on my blog with her review of the film 'CODA'.

We definitely have different writing styles but it makes for an interesting blend; I hope you enjoyed our little foray into collaborative poetry. Also, note to Lauren - we need more pictures together!
