A poem created by sending messages back and forth with a friend. It reads as follows: "After a while, you, and your smile, became everything. / The sun could burn into oblivion and still, it would be no match, / Constellations like worn drawing pins connected with loose string and nothing else / fizzle out when I look at you, all of you, and know that you're / beautiful, always and completely. / You sing Billy Joel softly under your breath as if his words are a prayer and / when you start to make up the words, I can't help but grin at the absurd sounds you utter. / It's almost biblical, the way you create and destroy. My heart / hurts when you perceive me - something so devastating in a single glance except / I can't help but crave your gaze. Crave your touch. Crave the shape of your love. / One more look and I don't think I'll ever stop falling. / Even when the stars are dull and the sun has gone, I will keep tripping into the abyss of your brilliant smile."

Created using a prompt by Poetry Trapper Keeper and in collaboration with a dear friend who wishes to be known only as 'Sam'.

Had such a fun time with this poem! This is definitely a format I could experiment with a bit more; I've always loved visual poetry.

I haven't been posting much lately but I'm trying to get back into it! Check out Poetry Trapper Keeper's Substack for some awesome pieces and maybe even a sneaky little poem from yours truly in the Hot People Have a Spring Awakening issue!
